My husband and I stayed at the Hilton in Myrtle Beach with our two dogs in summer of 2010. I promise you we will never ever stay there again. You are charged for everything under the sun and the charges are outrageous. You have to pay for parking each day, (like where else are you going to park), you have to pay each day for the internet (almost all places have free internet now), and then the charges for the food and drink prices were unbelievable. I can understand paying more for food that is good but it wasn't even good. The breakfast was $* each for the buffet (coffee and juice included... yipee!!) and it had no taste at all. The drink prices down at the tiki bar were $* each. That just for a little frozen drink. My husband and I ate out at Outback's one night and Olive Garden another night and both of those bills were cheaper than the tiki bar bill. We each had two drinks and nachos and the bill was over $*. You also have to pay extra to get an umbrella at the pool. There were a couple of signs that stated you couldn't reserve chairs by the pool too. Do you think anyone followed that rule? There was even one staff member that reserved two chairs (and umbrella) for a couple every single day. Maybe they were somebody important but I consider my husband and myself important too. It was so bad we check out a day earlier that what we had planned. A good note... all of the staff member that we met were extremely nice and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The problems with the Hilton are with the policies not staff.

This was the worst Hilton I have ever seen. If you read all of these reviews, they are all right in line with the experience you will have. The hotel itself and lobby are wonderful, but the rooms are another story. They are in very poor condition and dirty. Paint chips falling from the ceiling and tiny bathrooms. The closet door would barely open and kept falling off... and the sliding glass door to the balcony took considerable strength to open and close. On top of all of this the service was HORRIBLE. They were all rude. We stayed 7 nights and only had maid service twice. The rest of the nights we had to deal with trying to call down for clean towels that took forever to arrive. We eventually had to just take towels from the pool area to use. During our stay, the emergency alarms went off twoce. The first one we found out was a false alarm, but you would never have known because the staff just went about their business. The next was supposeldy a drill for the staff, but the alarm itself made no mention of it. Very poor management. The pool is OK, but given your choices in that area, no where near in line with competitors. For the money, stay anywhere else but here!

THe air conditioning broke the first day and by the second day water from the air conditioning leaked through the ceiling and down the walls. There were patches and bubble spots all over the ceiling and walls so this was not a one time thing. The bathroom tile was dirty and cracked and the tub was so filthy and clogged with hair the tub wouldn't drain. Our room keys malfunctioned almost every time we tried to use them so we got locked out and had to go to the front desk at aleast 5 times or woke up someone sleeping. One morning my husband turned on the water to take a shower and scalding hot water came out filled with dirt and sand. This was disgusting. It was a disgrace. THey did move us to another room after the air malfunction but then the stains on the ceiling and walls, filthy bathroom were the same and then the water filled with dirt and sand shot out. They refunded one out of the 5 nights, but really we should have received a full refund. We paid $*** a night and it was a miserable week. We wanted a nice relaxing vacation and were very disappointed. Not up to what you expect from Hilton. Oh- to add to the tackiness the maids yelled at each other and were rude to the guests. The day of check out a maid banged on our door to ""make sure we were leaving"" as she put it. I am still angry that we paid good money to be in ""hell"" basically. Do not stay at this dump.

I was surprised that despite having reservation from 2 July to 4 July, I was about to be kcked out on the 4th noon. I was lucky that I came back to the room after having lunch to see this happening. My belongings were already packed to be taken out. However, the manager of the house keeping was a nice lady. She immediately recognized the problem as a computer glitch and appologized. She also provided me with some snacks and a bottle of wine for the 4th of July evening. That was very nice and kind of her. But it still bothers me how such a reputed hotel could do it to one its guest. Obviously, I'll have to think twice to book next time at the Hilton.
